Home Room Dividers
Home room dividers are used for many purposes. Obviously, dividing a space into two or more parts is a major reason for using a room divider. You may also use it to add additional storage shelves, or to offer a level of privacy for the occupants of the room. A divider can reduce the proportions of a room to a more aesthetically appealing size.
The divider used in enhancing the room space may be of many different types. The divider may be as simple as a folding screen that might be moved into place if needed on a temporary basis. A divider that is less flexible is a curtain, drape or sliding divided that is suspended from the ceiling or from a rack or rod. These dividers might be movable or they may be fairly permanent for the hardware.
A more permanent type of room divider would be a double sided storage unit. It might have shelves above and a cabinet below. The shelves could be used to display books or curios while the closed spaces could hold items that are not decorative but functional. A storage unit that is accessible from only one side is less functional, but so long as the non-accessible side is finished, it can be used effectively in both areas split by the unit.
A room divider doesn’t have to visual block vision between the two areas to be an effective use of space. Arranging furniture in a way that fools the eye into thinking that there is a division is another way to use a divider. It is most effective to separate the space without using up valuable floor space for the divider.
A home room divider can be in a style that will fit with any room decor. It can be temporary or permanent in nature. Use colors and accessories that enhance the look and feel of the room space.
